Oh duh never mind this isn’t Gogs.
Ooh, we’re back to this jerk!
That salmon truck must reek something awful by now.
Probably what attracted the bears.
knocking over that salmon truck was the entire reason for the bear uprising, the mutations are a fringe benefit 😉

Nigel alive?!Le plot thickens!
Oh right, that was this guy’s name. I honestly forgot. XD!
We’re back!! Having a kid is a huge deal. Thanks for making time for us
What’s going to happen to Nigel?!?! I bet he’s going to somehow form an alliance with the bears – he’ll get himself all fitted out with guns, and will offer to help them wipe out humanity.
I am hoping this will be a growth opportunity for Nigel. He’s had his moment as a self-righteous foil for the protagonists. If that were all he were ever intended to be, his story should have ended in the initial bear attack, getting disemboweled while still spouting platitudes about the nobility of Nature and the perfidity of Man.
The fact that he’s still here means he still has a purpose to the story. He -could- (somehow) set events in motion that make things worse for the remaining humans, based on his love of nature and hatred of people, but given his body posture/fear, I think he is having to face some truths he never had to face before, namely…
‘Nature’ can be brutal and is totally uncaring of weather you, personally, live or die.
Animals, particularly wild ones, are not your friends just because you claim to be a friend to them.
Nature is not ‘good’, nor is it ‘evil’, it is just Nature. Therefor humans, even those sometimes at odds with Nature, are not automatically evil.
If Nigel has this drummed into him by his traumatic experience, he may well grow as a character… admit his worldview was a little skewed. If he is lucky enough to survive Bearmageddon, he could mature from a rabid environmentalist (someone who has elevated nature to sacred status and believes that which is not part of the ‘natural’ world is profane) to a responsible conservationist (someone who loves and respects nature, but recognizes that humans are part of the natural world, and have agency to responsibly interact with it.)
Admittedly, it’d be a big jump for someone who started with such a blinkered worldview, but extraordinary events can sometimes bring extraordinary changes. I find the thought of a humbled Nigel, brought to heel by the very same natural world he once blindly revered, to be an interesting character to watch develop.
So, I guess this means by guest page in which Nigel becomes king of the bears is now officially non-canon.
