Hello my bearma-homies,
Sorry for the non-posting for a couple weeks, but I figure Christmas break was a good enough excuse. I wish I had more to say at the moment, but for now all I can say is I am happy to be posting a new page, and happy to say I have the next couple done so we should be regular for a couple more weeks anyway. Thanks for being a patient and understanding audience. See you next week!
Ethan
Love it! I think referencing other survival/zombie films is required.
fully understandable delay. holiday following settling into a newly married life is bound to keep you busy. keep up the great work!!!
Maybe the bears will pick up pace and become a Bear-nado.
The first panel would be better off if it read “Here are all of the spears.”
There’s no time for proper grammar, its the bearpocolypse man!
* It’s
😉
Oooooooooooooh!
I don’t know many people who use perfect grammar at all times when speaking. I think that when writing dialogue, little mistakes help make it seem real.
I think you make a good point that speech and dialogue should be realistic and reinforce the character of the speaker. If Burton had said this, I might not have blinked….
I would still correct this instance, however, because a grammatical error that ‘feels’ not quite right can throw a reader off stride and take them out of the plot. I found myself stopping when I read this line: “Wait, what? That’s not right…” Whether correct or incorrect, grammar should be transparent and invisible in dialogue.
Btw Ethan, Happy New Year! I can’t wait for your next couple posts, the tension is killing me 😀
I think I personally would avoid having characters make minor grammar mistakes unless the mistake shows something important to the character. Sometimes too much realism can detract from a story.
That depends on whether the character is a stickler for grammar. Apparently, she is not.
Well, this comic kind of is “Zombie Apocalypse but with Bears Instead”. Because bears are more badass than zombies.
Wow Gogs trying to give advice after proving how dumb he is? Miss me with that!
Don’t forget, a gun was found in the truck when the guys were burying the drunkard next door and setting up their traps! They do have a rifle!
Also, LOVE Bearpocalypse. Thanks for an excellent story, great drawings, and regular updates. I especially appreciate the depth of the characters you’ve created…you’ve endowed them with souls. I especially enjoy the manly advice about honor and purpose that the boys are receiving, and the steady and caring guidance of their leader. It’s been fun to watch them develop.
I like how much more mature Joel looks now. Like he’s coming to terms with the world. Go back and check him out in his first appearance, compared to the first panel on this page. He’s hardening up.
