I have to admit, it is torture to post this comic at the rate of one page per week in the middle of such a fast paced scene. Thanks for your patience!
I’ll be at Comikaze Expo this weekend in Anaheim! So come see me if you get the chance, I’ll be selling books, prints, posters and doing commissions.

Great last frame!
All the build up has been worth it, but yes… it does suck to have to wait a whole week!
head-punch faster, Goggs! 🙂
Holy crap! Gogs is holding his own!
Maybe the spear in the bear’s chest got stuck on the fence, so it can’t quite get to him.
As soon as that last panel is in color, it will be my new wallpaper. I may not wait that long.
I will totally “not” do the same.
I’m sure he’s fine… Heh!
On this page, the role of Gogs will be voiced by Link from Ocarina of Time.
^ This 😀
Do they even still make clamshell style phones?
I’ve seen some new clamshell phones for sale recently, mostly for prepaid services. I still have my five-year-old phone, too, so she could just have an old phone.
Well when I drew the old pages when the characters actually get out their phones, the smart phone was not nearly as prominent as it is now. Now, all these characters would have iPhones.
This is such a hard battle. If nobody helps him…Gogs should be dead. Unless you can come up with a pretty good twist…that spear is not going to kill the bear fast enough, and no way a few punches will do anything, but anger the bear more.
That said, I don’t want Gogs to die, and I realize that sooner or later unrealistic bear battles will have to happen…this is probably one of many.
So I guess…Go, Go, Gogs Ranger.
I hate to nitpick, but I’m going to because I don’t want people to get lost. Comikaze is in Los Angeles at the LA Convention Center, Not Anaheim.
Oh man, so embarrassing. thanks for catching that!!
Bear speech bubble; my two cents: don’t use it. Looks better without. When coloring these pages, I suggest fading the color behind just where the bubble would be, and not bother with the mouth line area.
That was a classic scene and totally worthy of homaging.
I personally wouldn’t be too upset if you posted early. Like now. I’m going to go crazy with the wait.
He’s probably going to die, but he will be remembered as an awesome guy.
Awesome!!!
I call it an homage to TMNT! Such a classic. I want to save up pages and read them back to back, but I can’t not read them when they are posted.
20 bucks on Nigel returning to save the day by running over the bear with his truck! Cue Redemption song. 🙂
Gogs survives. I know this, because he’s now 80 and lives in Russia. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/31/man-80-fights-bear-survives
Gogs lives. There is still too much Bear story for Gogs to die that quickly, though he may be wounded. Don’t know if he’ll succeed in breaking the bear’s skull, but he will get his licks in when Dickinson arrives, looking on approvingly at Gog’s growth as a developing, responsible adult. I would dislike it if Nigel returns to the gang this soon.
Offscreen on the final panel are four or so other bears just looking on.
Bear 1: So should we go help Ben out?
Bear 2: I…I kinda want to see how this plays out.
Bear 1: Seriously? He jammed a hunk of wood into Ben’s chest!
Bear 3: And now he’s punching him.
Bear 4: Can’t… look away.
That last panel is awesome.
