So here we are: the first full week of Bearmopause. What have we learned?  I personally have learned that going without Bearmageddon is difficult, but we’ll work through this together.

Tommy Cannon sent in this great drawing of a Bearmingo, which I would have to categorize as one of the least likely “future bad guys” in Bearmageddon.  It’s awesome nonetheless.  Animal hybrids are great choice of subject matter because if you’ve trolled through Ethan’s non-comic stuff like his sketchbook, there’s more hybrids than a ‘Whole Foods’ parking lot.

I also liked it for the waves.  I don’t know what it says about me but I immediately saw Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa:

Such majesty!  I never noticed before reading the Wikipedia article that Mt. Fuji was in the background of that painting — I feel like the rolling hills in Tommy’s drawing could be a reference to that too, but it may be over-interpretation on my part.

Tommy performs in Phoenix with The Torch Theater, Great Arizona Puppet Theater, and The Trunk Space.  If you’re in the area, stop in for a show!

Thanks again Tommy!

We’re still looking to fill out the month before the story resumes, there are 2 entries lined up right now that I can’t wait to post.  If you have something you’d like to share, send it in to [email protected]  Keep in mind that it’ll be posted in roughly the same dimensions as the normal strip, so plan accordingly.  By submitting stuff in crazy dimensions you’re agreeing to have me(who is not a designer by trade) resize/crop or otherwise mangle it.  If we get enough sent in, I’ll put a Monday post in the rotation.
